   Features

Welcome to the new, exciting adventure of Jigsaw Puzzle!

Jigsaw Puzzle is an exciting, artisticaly beautiful, rather
unique computer puzzle. Because of the way it actualy "cuts"
the puzzle pieces, the puzzle shapes are extremely realistic.
You get the feeling that you are actually arranging a puzzle
on your coffee table, for all the pieces are visible and can
be arranged easily on the edges of your screen.
The best part of Jigsaw Puzzle is that you can never lose
the pieces! Saving the puzzle in the exact position that you
leave it in, is as simple as a keystroke or click of the mouse.
When you decide to return to Jigsaw Puzzle, you do not have to
fear that the kids got a hold of your "extra" pieces or the cat
decided to prey on the corner section, or the dog etc. etc.
Jigsaw Puzzle always keeps your puzzle safe inside your
computer, just waiting for your next move, in the exact position
and condition you leave it in!
For the competitive at heart, Jigsaw Puzzle keeps score based
on the amount of time it takes to complete a picture and the
mode you chose to play with.
There's a Novice, Expert and Master mode. Watch the expression
on your friend's face, when playing in Expert or Master mode,
change drastically, as successfuly placed pieces begin to drop
out of the puzzle picture because the puzzle isn't being
completed quickly enough! Jigsaw Puzzle allows everyone from
a first time puzzle user, to an advanced puzzle connoisseur,
to experience hours of puzzle magic and enjoyment!

   Ease-to-use

Jigsaw Puzzle can operate easily with your keyboard or mouse.
At first, the top of your screen will look like this:

Help Start View Sound Restore Exit Novice Pieces

   Help / F1
This gives you fast and easy information, directly on your
screen, eliminating the need to open your manual.

   Start / F2
This starts cutting the puzzle picture into the amount of
pieces you have selected. After you select Start, your screen
will look like this:

Help Return View Sound Restore Exit Save Score Time

   View / F3
Allows you to choose one of the set of puzzle pictures to
assemble. Use View to switch back and forth from an incomplete
puzzle to a complete picture.

   Sound / F4
Turns ON or OFF the sound of the puzzle. It beeps when a
piece is assembled to the appropriate position, plays music
when you successfully complete a puzzle picture and you can
hear the puzzle pieces being cut and dropped out of the box.

   Restore / F5
Restores a saved position of a puzzle picture.

   Novice/Expert/Master / F6
Modes that allow you to choose the level of expertise in
which to play.
Novice allows you to arrane the puzzle pieces in a fashion
similar to conventional puzzle arranged on a coffee table. You
would typically pour the pieces out of the puzzle box and
arrange them neatly on the edges of the table. Jigsaw Puzzle
works in the same fashion, as the pieces drop out of the picture
box allowing you to neatly arrange the unassembled ones around
the edges of your computer screen. To assemble the picture
puzzle, you simple drag them inside the box to the appropriate
place.
Expert allows you to arrange the puzzle pieces in the same
exact fashion as a Novice. The only clinch to the Expert mode
is, after you successfully place a puzzle piece in its exact
spot, should you not complete the puzzle within a "certain"
amount of time, another successfully placed puzzle piece will
drop out of the picture box (when you least expect it!). This
mode allows for hours of fun, as it takes advantage of the fact
that you are not playingwith a conventional puzzle, on your
coffee table!
Master allows you to arrange the puzzle pieces in the exact
fashion as Novice and Expert, but... as you've probably guessed
by now... if you do not complete the puzzle within a "certain"
amount of time, successfully placed pieces, begin to drop out of
the picture box (when you least expect it!) faster than Expert
mode! This mode is great fun, but a word of advise, unless you
are prepared for lots of fun and laughs do not attempt!

    Pieces / F7
This allows you to choose the amount of pieces a puzzle picture
can be cut it, prior to starting the puzzle. Your choices are as
follows, 12, 25, 46, 48, 50, 62, 72, 87, 95, 101, 108, 111, 132,
137, 141, 159, 174, 190, 203, 224. Since Jigsaw Puzzle cuts the
pieces very realisticaly, the higher the number of cut pieces you
select, produces smaller piece sizes. The smaller the number of cut
pieces you select produces bigger piece sizes. If you select a
puzzle picture to be cut into 12 pieces, your actual pieces will be
larger, the image on the piece easy to detect and the pieces will
drag slower into the box. The larger piece modes (12, 25, 46) are
great for younger children who may be just starting to learn how to
use the computer or puzzles. If you select 224 pieces, your actual
puzzle pieces will be smaller, the image on the piece more difficult
to detect and the pieces will move very quickly when you drag them
into the box. The smaller piece modes (> 62) are exellent for the
puzzle "connoisseur"!

   Save / F8
This allows you to save the current positions of the pieces in
the puzzle. If you are in the midst of assemblingthe puzzle and
can not complete the whole picture at that point, simply use the
save function. When you return yo puzzle at a later time or date,
it will be in the exact arrangement you left it in.

   Other Easy-to-use features

   Exit or Escape
Allows you to leave the game. You will be prompted by a question
"Do you want to quit Jigsaw?" Choose from "Yes" or "No".

   Tab
Will pause or continue an action within the puzzle. When you
pause, the clock on the top of your screen stpos keeping time,
thus having no effect on the score you get after successfully
completing the puzzle picture. The faster you complete a picture,
the higher score you will get.

   Arrows or Left Mouse Button
   Places the pieces accordingly.

   Backspase or Right Mouse Button
Places a puzzle piece from outside the box to the appropriate
place inside the box. This can be used to give you a "Hint" in
a more difficult mode.

   Clock
The clock on the top of your screen keeps track of the amount of
time it takes to complete a picture. Time effects you score. The
less time it takes you to complete a puzzle picture, the higher
you score is.

   Score
Your score is determined by the amount of time it takes to
complete a puzzle and the type of mode you choose to play. If you
successfully complete a 46 piece puzzle picture in Novice mode in
15 minutes, your score will be lower then if you completed a 46
piece puzzle in Expert or Master modes in the same amount of time.
If you play against someone, it will keep track of both scores.
